  6. It's a Newcastle name, means "horny like a ram" - I kid you not! There are also German and Indian(!) variations.

    "Ramsbottom" is also a common name in England. It mans "valley of the garlic flowers". I kid you not. Corruption of Rams Botham.

    I looked all this up as a disgruntled youth. I was regruntled.
