Again, sorry for lack of posts and blog updates

Having just received an email complaining about my blog list being out-of-date, I would like to reiterate my situation.

1.  On the 10th May 2015 I had my first child, who takes up most of my time (which he should). At the time I mentioned that the blog would be neglected.

2. Last year I started my own business which I maintain while minding my child, taking up even more time.

3. With another child due next month, the blog is likely to get into a worse state of neglect, which I won't be annoyed about at all.

4. Although I enjoy the blog, it neither plays the bills or raises my child so if you can't take it as it is, it's maybe not for you.

Here are some current links, if it's links you want ;)

  1. Normally I only lurk on this blog, but I wanted to tell you that I really enjoy your posts. Don't feel bad about not blogging more often. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate at the moment.

(And congratulations on baby #2! How exciting. :) )

  2. Really? Somebody wrote to complain about this blog that you provide for free doesn't suit them?

This is what I've seen other sites call "free ice cream." You're giving away ice cream, and since nobody's paying for it they don't get to complain about the flavor.

  3. I am so sorry you received a complaint. I love your blog and appreciate you posting as often as you do. I will you well on your business and family!

  5. Wait, another baby next month? So the labor pains are 4 days apart now? And afterwards are continuous until Bob goes off to university? Where do I write Smout to tell him THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT? :)

  6. Congrats! Don't take it personally -- people who complain clearly have never had a child (or two).

The real question is whether two are twice as hard, or exponentially more difficult. So far, my experience is that it ranges between 1.3X as hard to 4X as hard as having one child.

  7. First : Congratulation for the new baby !
Then, i like to read your blog since 7 years, nice job ! I can easily understand that it's not easy every day.

  8. One is a grandparent now, and therefore a reserve babysitter, when the gurning and whinging is too much - and that's the parents Jo! Good luck wie the business, and hugs to the wain. Forget the criticism. We're not online just for free entertainment purposes, and a source of stuff to share on other sites. I've thrown the odd comment now and again, and my turn to say soz for not replying - the notifications go to another e mail account I use, and visit rarely, and for some reason refuses all attempts to change to my heavy duty regular letterbox. Stuff the critics - It's a free service - do you get paid to do this?! Pmsl. Make a fortune from the internet. Bon weekend from a "Wild Goose" from, Bangor, in the fair County Down, with a torturous Coleraine/north Antrim accent, now talking a northern French Ch'ti dialect, wie me original Ulster/Scots accent. A glory to behold. Already trying to lead my little french step grandson astray, blowing raspberries, and he already says "Aye" and "Oh aye", before he can speak properly, let alone French. Mwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. xoxo

  9. Why sorry? Why justify?
You have your life and I thank you for what you presented me on this page.
Some people just don't have respect for the others. What a stupid mail

  11. Congratulations on the impending second arrival! I have no idea how much extra work that will be, as I was never going to have a second one after discovering how much time and effort the first baby consumed. Best wishes!

  12. Well, I saw this this morning at work where I won't sign in to comment. I'm glad to see by now that others posted the same sentiment I had.

Congratulations on Life, Joanne, including bringing new lives into the world. There are so many things more important than the internet. Good job keeping your priorities straight.

  13. I agree, that complaint is silly. I've followed this blog for years and it has been a constant source of fun and light for which I have paid zero dollars (pounds?). So instead of complaints, you deserve some thanks for continuing to put out a little bit of light out into the world from your corner of the internet.

If the posts will be rarer, I will look forward to each that much more...

    Cheers!!

  14. Right on. Take care of you and yours first. I hope the negative comments are few and far between. I enjoy what you post and do miss the higher volume of posts, but I also know life brings change and you seem to be setting your priorities right. Again, you and yours first. And there's no shame in that!

    Best wishes!

  16. Congratulation for the new baby.
I also receive e-mails about lack of posts and what not, but these people failed to read the fine print at the bottom of their "special invitation" to view my site that clearly states that I do indeed have many other obligations that require my attention.
You just keep doing what you can to shed a little light and happiness....good luck and best wishes.

  17. Yup - regular here. You're my second stop every morning after io9.com. While I'm also a little disappointed when there's not much new stuff, I wouldn't ever think of writing to harangue you about it! Good god - I'm just grateful for this little corner of the internet. I tend to do a lot of browsing on various eclectic sites, but you always seem to find cool photos or stories I haven't seen elsewhere.

Thanks for this blog, Joanne! Congratulations on the new creature joining your household!

Shrug off the haters. You have more fans than you realize. =)

  18. I enjoy your blog, and hope you are having a wonderful life outside it! I never comment (or rarely) but after Kev at Nothing to do with Arbroath died, I had to take the opportunity to let you know that you are doing a fine job at life, not to mention the internet! Thanks for the fun!

  19. You're doing a great job, I feel bad for someone who had to take the time to complain about you not updating your blog often enough. First world problems, surely.

  20. I'll post as much as I can for the next month...after that it'll be hard going :)

  21. What is wrong with people that they think you owe them something. As you say, this blog doesn't pay the bills etc. It's for fun. Enjoy the brining up of your kids, and developing your own business. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face, whenever I log on. Cheers.

  22. We love your blog. We jones for your links. But after witnessing several of our favorite bloggers decline in health, neglect their health, or worse, we certainly understand that you have a real life and want you to enjoy it! Cheers and thanks!
