What is it about the painting? Do you like it? Does it disturb you?
When I saw it, the thought that kept coming to my mind was that these two people were going down to a function, a gathering, but they were carrying with them (as represented by the flood of water) an overwhelming amount of baggage. It wouldn't be "just them" enjoying other people - they would be bringing with them a long history of problems, complications, and so forth.
Perhaps I'm wrong? Maybe it was created to mean something else. . . .

Deana, you're a great psychologist! It just reminded me of a lot of my dreams about old houses and errr, flooding :-)
ReplyDeleteJoanne, you had these dreams because you didn't go to the toilet before sleeping.
ReplyDeleteAnon, damn, how did you know? ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt made me think "Who left a plate on the effin' banister?!!"
ReplyDeleteSmout maybe it means...eat up your dinner quickly before Joanne rings about her broken computer being flooded with viruses.
