These are indeed Baobab trees. I have seen very large ones in Senegal. The biggest I have seen had a diameter of 21 meters. Baobab can hold large bodies of water and speaking of bodies, important peoples like wizards and chiefs get buried in them. These trees can become very old and grow insanely slow. I have two of them in my living room and the trunk is about a foot high. It basically did not get thicker or higher in the 7 years I have it now.
