"More and more people are living an anti-consumerist lifestyle. They consumpt as less resources as possible and do not participate in the conventional economy. Their movement is called freeganism. It involves salvaging discarded and unspoiled food from supermarket dumpsters".
"consumpt"??? "as LESS resources as possible"???
ReplyDeleteI don't feel I should change it, not my words! Will place in inverted commas...
ReplyDeleteguy in belgium got convicted for that, they called it - even though he took it from an outside bin of a supermarket - "stealing"
ReplyDeletefood was over date, they threw it away, but it was still stealing
Ridiculous, they can't sell it...
ReplyDeleteI didn't think you wrote it...
ReplyDeleteI've been doing this, but instead of dumpsters, I use the wilderness. Instead of spoiled, or near spoiled food, I catch fresh meat to heat and ingest. It's much more economical.
ReplyDeleteE, my spelling has been known to be worserer.
ReplyDeleteS, that's how it should be.
I watched a Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmeran going out with some ladies in California to do this. They were part of an organization and they were trained to pick the safe food (never any meat). They then prepared all the food for the homeless. They have a "street dinner" for anyone and everyone. I would have eaten everything they cooked. I won't do this for myself though.
ReplyDeleteLiz, I agree with this wholeheartedly...but I don't think I could do it either...
