Windy Take-Offs And Landings, Birmingham, England

  1. Joanne, I am a regular viewer of your tasteful blog. TYVM for following the Sonographersblog. This video which seems to be a re-post (Never mind, I like bits and pieces also) bring back the stress associated with flying a plane. I am a private pilot, and I understand landing and taking off are the worst parts of the flight. I shuddered at the airport in Birmingham. Though shot with a telephoto lens and slow motion it looks as though the runway is far from flat. LOL Think Aspen CO. Landing at many airports around the world begs the pilot to do some research before the plane leaves the ground. I am sure this runway is safe or the Brits would not allow commercial flights to use it. One other comment: The pilots in this video show very good judgement when to land or abort. I am impressed with the wheels up attitude when a landing is aborted. DEAL WITH IT TOWER! LOL.

    1. That's awesome, if only I could fly (but no one would be safe). How far would £40 of fuel take me on a small plane?
