Boycott Monsanto

Toxic corn kernels, GE seed patenting. Herbicidal bastards!

  1. News flash: Nearly everything you eat in America has GMOs in it. There's no (repeat, NO) evidence that they pose a health risk to anyone. They've been tested out the wazoo, and anyone telling you they're in any way toxic is a loon with nothing but fantasies to run their mouths.

That said, Monsanto SHOULD be opposed for their abuse of patents, lawsuits, and monopolistic practices. They're also causing an even greater spread of monocultures, which makes the potential for a blight from some source (insect, mold, disease, etc.) all the more likely down the road.

So less with the fearmongering about what's BS and concentrate on what the actual threat Monsanto poses.

    1. Thankfully (as far as I know) here in Ireland we don't have to eat shit that's been modified with built-in pesticides. Monsanto's fucked up sweetcorn HAS been tested out on rats, causing all sorts of tumours to pop up all over the place. Seriously, how could it be good for anyone. Anyway, we're agreed on them being cunts.

    2. Joanne, the Seralini "research" you mention was retracted for using a line of rats that ALWAYS get tumors, for too small a sample, and for the undisclosed conflict of interest (money paid to Seralini by Greenpeace out of their $300 million annual budget).

      That means nothing was proven.

You've no doubt seen the "experimental" group of rats, with their huge tumors. Seralini and GP splashed those all over the news. But know what? The "control" group looked just as bad! Seralini has a history of both advocacy and rejected, bad science: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%A9ralini_affair

    3. Is there any science with that claim?

    4. I'm just not willing to take the chance. Messing about with nature.

  2. Humans have been messing with nature for thousands of years. That is why humanity can develop a civilization in the first place. Corn, Carrots, Broccoli, Bananas, Cauliflower even Cattle have all been modified genetically over thousands of years from selective breeding. Nature itself is incapable of supporting the human population.

    1. I'd take that as a sign that humans aren't wanted.
