Still proud to be from Norn Irn, and will never forget my roots (of both colours and traditions), but becoming more and more French, to friends and family, despite claiming I'm Cht'Irlandais now - a mix of northern French Ch'ti, who have the same warped sense of humour as us, and similar way of expressing themselves, not quite the same as the rest of Frogland. Hope yer hangover and embarassing social media posts aren't too bad when you wake up more the morra afernoon petal. xo
Did you ever see the movie "Rat"(2000)? An Irish guy lies down on the couch and metamorphoses into a rat. The scene I remember is, the rat is drinking, as always, with his human pals in the pub. He falls into somebody's pint of Guinness. They hurriedly fish him out before he can drown, then squeegee/wring the Guinness out of him, back into the glass, and continue drinking.

ReplyDeleteThe sense of humour is a must...it's lost in translation a lot of the time I imagine :)

ReplyDeleteNow, that's true Irish drinking (I guess).
Are you sure that wasn't a bad dream, Larry? ;D
