I live in Minnesota, which has a lot of lakes. We get PSAs about surviving a drop through the ice which touch on a lot of the points he makes here. The one thing to add would be to try to climb out and move in the direction you came from, because you know the ice there was solid enough to support your weight. His channel is pretty interesting! Check out his video on the "Kjortel", a medieval frock he recommends for outdoorsing in the late Fall and early Winter.
Very instructive, but it would be nice to see him warm up around the fire in the ice shanty.
