Bought a mini greenhouse today as my old greenhouse has more-or-less fell apart and lost most of the glass. There's a few cherry tomato plants in it, along side strawberry plants and iceberg lettuce.
I would recommend everyone and their dog attempt to grow their own veg, very therapeutic and yummy.

Quite time and money saving !!
Aye Chazza, they're very light, I have a brick on the bottom shelf to hold it down a bit. The quickest and easiest to grow are lettuce and herbs. Carrots and root veg are easy too but take a while to grow, They need loose sandy soil, but compost in a bucket would do rightly :-) Tomatoes, cucumbers, melons etc are fun to grow, but need lots of watering and feeding - they're better grown in a greenhouse, humid conditions suit them best.
ReplyDeleteHandy greenhouse link there - though my 3 tier greenhouse only cost a tenner from Poundstretcher :-)
