Rich Man's War

  1. That looks like a Vietnam Vet protest. I lived during those times and missed the party by one year, since they stopped drafting, although I did get to register.

    What's most bizarre is the irony of the poster. There was a lot of truth to the statement, since those with money, and affluence, could easily buy their way out of serving in the war zone. Their sons went to college, served in the reserves or someplace besides Vietnam. Those without resources were given a haircut and woke to the "soft" requests of a pissed off drill instructor.

    Those that went were rewarded with mind numbing violence, which never brought any real estate or a sure win. Fight for days, see hundreds killed, leave and come back in a few weeks to do it all over again.

    Bleh. I'll get off my soap box.
