The cheap laptop cooler I had replaced is doing the same as the original - typing www.google.com into my search box. Should it show as a keyboard? baffled.
This is just bizarre. If it was an attempt at running malware, then it should be doing much more interesting things than this. I really don't know what to think... Does it do this with anyone else's laptop?
If you really feel like hacking the thing apart, you could cut the data lines (usually green and white) so that it can't do anything but draw power from your computer. I really don't want to recommend that unless you accept the risk that you might just kill the cooling fan all together.
Hi James, it's kinda creepy how it taps every letter into Google's address...but it is only Google. I was wondering if it could be a keylogger somehow in reverse? lol
I may be old-fashioned, but anything that types something into my computer that is not me is up to no good. I'm not that computer savvy, yet I don't feel good about this for you. Perhaps it is harmless, perhaps not. Again, good luck Joanne. Now I can't wait to hear how it ends!

I have two coolers so I'm going to give them to two difference (more savvy users) to experiment on. Interested in the results :)
